What is the St. Andrew's Memorial Garden?
The St. Andrew's Memorial arden is a private enclosed area adjacent to the Parish Hall that provides an appropriate place on the church grounds for the interment of ashes of deceased loved ones. The Garden also provides an opportunity to memorialize those interred elsewhere.
Who May reserve interment space in the Garden?
Former and present parish members of St. Andrews and their immediate family may have their ashes interred in the Garden.
Are different interment modes available?
Yes. There are 3 modes.
- Columbarium niche with marker.
- Inground (waterproof container) with individual marker.
- Direct burial with name on common plaque.
How many ash-bearing containers will each niche or inground location accept?
Two. Standard waterproof containers furnished by the crematory are recommended. The family provides these containers.
How many former parish members and their immediate family members interred elsewhere be memorialized in the Garden?
The Garden has a Memorial Plaque to record the names of loved ones interred elsewhere.
What types of markers, monuments, flowers, etc. are permitted in the Garden?
Markers are limited to those provided by St. Andrews and are included in the fee schedule. A small amount of cut flowers is appropriate on the day of interment and on the birth date or death anniversaries.
Who does one contact to reserve space or to place a name on the Memorial Plaque?
Contact any memberof theMemorial Garden Committee, a Vestry Person or call the parish office at (706) 376-4986 to learn more or to apply for space.
What legal and financial provisions are required?
Your rights and obligations as well as those of St. Andrews are set forth in an agreement to be signed by both parties. The fee schedule is determined by the Vestry and reviewed annually. It is available for review at the parish office.
Will the Garden at St. Andrews be maintained?
Yes. The Memorial Garden Committee is charged by the Vestry with overseeing the maintenance of the property and necessary records.
